March 11th three years in a row!!! *eye roll*

So, for the past three years, (ever since i've met Kyler) I have broken down in March.

The first year, March 2009, was a week after mine and Kyler's first date. It happened on my way home for Spring Break, Ephraim to St. George..I was traveling with four other girls. As soon as we got onto the freeway, the car started to make a strange sound, and the accelerator stopped working properly. We ended up pulling over and waiting for about an hour for my friend's Aunt to pick us up. we then spent about 3 hours waiting for my friend's mom and dad to come pick us up. By the time they got to us. there was an aweful snow storm. Some of the other girls needed to be in Mexico the next day for a service project and so we made a decision to travel through the snow storm to St. George. It was a slow drive, and a REALLY long drive.  It was probably so long (a reason other than just the fact that it was a long trip) because I knew that i wanted to talk to Kyler on Facebook and I was stuck. We ended up reaching my house at 2 am (we left Ephraim at about3 pm), and i ran straight for the computer to facebook Kyler. oh, and he was online and we talked till about 6 am (the start to our late night all day spring break conversations). That poor car (that belonged to a friend of mine) had something wrong with the transmission, and was not in working condition for the rest of the school year.

The second year, March 11 2010, the car that broke down was on mine and Kyler's to Salt Lake from Logan the day before we got married. In Bountiful, the car broke down. Kyler's Dad (who just had his appendix taken out about three days before) drove out to help us fix the car. They ended up getting the car to work and we made it  back to Salt Lake safely, and then looked into rental cars for our honeymoon (by the way, if you are under 25, DON"T rent a car, they really charge WAY to much!!).

The third year, March 11, 2011, Kyler and I  were driving to St. George to visit my family and  my sister and her family who was visiting from Texas. Just before the Kanosh Exit, Kyler heard a funny noise coming from the engine. We pulled off at that exit and sat under the freeway trying to decided what we were going to do. (oh, keep in mind that at that time I was 11 weeks pregnant, very emotional, and I had need of a restroom and we had missed all the exits for Fillmore and we pulled off where there wasn't buildings in sit ) A car mechanic just happened to drive by, told us our car was in NO condition to drive, and we decided to have the mechanic call a tow for us. The next hour was spent trying to decide if we should get towed toward Salt Lake or St. George area. Since we were able to get a hold Ky's family, we decided to travel to Nephi and wait for his dad to pick us and our dumb car up. I ended up crying all day! I was so excited to visit with my sister and her girls and the rest of my family! and to have the car break down was WAY to much for me.

It ended up that we have not had time to work on our car till this past week (June, only three months later). But we have had to purchase a new engine for our car. Kyler and his dad have be such hard workers and have replaced the engine. This morning is now test time for the car. Lets pray it works! and will continue to work.

But, here is the lesson learned from all of this. I will not be doing ANY traveling on March 11, If i need to, i will have to wait until the next day before I will leave my apartment that day. I WILL NOT have another major repair on that day. well, at least Kyler and I can save up our money till then for the repair that is needed, what ever it may be, for next March 11.

I'm glad your car is fixed. When are you coming back to Logan?
