So, seeing as its been a while since I've blogged, i guess i better blog.
Christmas Eve
WE had origianally planned that we would go and spend time with my family through Christmas, but since he had to work Christmas Eve Night, we got to spend Christmas eve together. We had a fun little devotional and talked about the meaning of Christmas and had a talent show. After writing down our goals for the next year, we decided to "go to bed" and "wake up" and have Christmas morning before he left for work. Santa was great to Kyler and I. Kyler got Legos and Orange Juice (that all he would ask for from Santa), and I got NCIS and 4 new workout videos. I got Kyler and I a trip to Disney On Ice in March. I'm SOOOOOOOOOO super excited about that trip!! We had a wonderful "christmas morning" and then off Ky went to work.
The Real Christmas Morning
Kyler Thought he was scheduled till 8 am Christmas morning, but got lucky when there was a miss communication about who was working when and got to come home at 4 am. As soon as he got home, we left for Salt Lake. We got there about 7. Kyler wanted to sleep in the car and wait for his family to wake up. . . i vetoed that plan and ran inside to wake the house, I was disappointed to find that EVERYONE was awake! So i ran back to the car and dragged Kyler into the house to have Christmas morning there. Kyler and I scored! We got a 13"by9" pan, a bread pan ,and 9"by 9" pan(we didnt get those for our wedding) and we got the bestest game ever, A ticket to Ride. (we now have played about 35 times, its the best). We left at about 10am for St. George. . . such a long drive. I was only able to stay awake driving for two hours before i had to let Kyler drive.
Christmas Afternoon/Night
We first stopped at my grandparents home and wished them a Merry Christmas before venturing off to my family's home. When we got there, we found a very excited Rikki. My mom made her (a 19 year old) wait for Christmas! She was about to burst! We opened gifts. Rikki gave me a picture of the Oquirrh Mountain Temple and i had to fight back tears. It is such a beautiful picture, it now hangs in our front room. My dad got me this AMAZING cook book. I'm so excited to try out the new recipes (it uses vegetable puree, tomorrow's dinner is going to be twice baked potatoes with puree in it. . . so excited to try it). My mom got Kyler and I a game called Last word, Our game collect is so big now its crazy! My sister Christa got me a set of books called The books Of Bayern, i cant wait to start reading!!
Soon after we finished opening our gifts, we went out to see the new Narnia movie. I would suggest it. I rate it 1,000 thumbs up. It really was spectacular.
After Christmas Blues
Kyler and I spent the next little bit with my family. I enjoyed every minute of it. I've missed them so much! Saying good bye was so hard for me. I'm so grateful for a patient husband because the next 7 hours were tears. . . all the way home. . . Kyler got called into work as soon as we left St. George, so we had to drive all the way that night in order to get him to work by 2 am. It was sad to not have that last night of break with him before he had to work again. Night jobs stink for the wife!
We have spent the week cleaning our little apartment. It gets dirty so fast its crazy. We have also started to read our text books so we can do amazing this upcoming semester. . . ahh, school starts on Monday. . . not so excited.
I had two weeks break from work during the Christmas season. It was wonderful to have those weeks off, I started back on Monday. I've missed the kids so much . . . ok, some of them. Some of the kids really dislike me. . . I learned yesterday though, that i have a glare that will stop a 4 year old from kicking me. . . that was a great realization, i'll have to use it more often. . .
well, Christmas has been a blast. i had to take down the tree the day after we got home. But i have not stopped listening to Christmas music. Kyler put it perfect yesterday "we have already started our Christmas music for 2011" I LOVE Christmas music.
ps kyler has the camera hidden so i can't upload pictures. I'll edit this post as soon as i can find it.

Ok, so Alex and I also got Legos for Christmas. We need to play Ticket to Ride together. And that sounds way too hectic to be a relaxing Christmas! Hopefully spring break will be better to you! :)
